Trip Overview

Join us on an unforgettable 9-day expedition across Baja California Sur during the peak of the annual whale migration. This carefully designed journey follows the whales from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Cortez, giving you the rare opportunity to encounter four of the ocean's most iconic giants in a single trip.

From the breaching humpback whales of Cabo San Lucas to the famously curious grey whales of Magdalena Bay, the giant blue whales of Loreto, and the gentle whale sharks of La Paz, each destination offers a completely different wildlife experience. Along the way, we'll also explore mangrove ecosystems and towering sand dunes, with opportunities to encounter dolphins, sea lions, fin whales, minke whales, and a variety of other marine life.

Whether you're a photographer, wildlife enthusiast, snorkeler, or simply passionate about the ocean, this expedition showcases one of the greatest marine wildlife spectacles on Earth at the only time of year when the peak seasons for all these incredible species overlap.

Please note that the itinerary may vary depending on weather, sea conditions, and wildlife activity.

1 Day

Arrival in Cabo San Lucas

Welcome to Baja

We'll kick off the expedition with a welcome briefing, introductions, and an overview of the adventure ahead. This is a great opportunity to meet the group, go over logistics, and prepare for the incredible wildlife encounters to come.

2 Day

Open Ocean Safari

Whales of Cabo

Head out for a full-day open ocean safari off Cabo San Lucas.

This area offers opportunities to encounter humpback whales during their breeding season, along with dolphins, sea lions, mobula rays, and other marine life depending on conditions.

3 Day

Magdalena Bay

Following the migration

Enjoy one final morning whale watching around Cabo San Lucas before transferring to La Magdalena Bay.

As we move north, we continue following the whales along one of the world's greatest marine migration routes.

4-5 Day

Grey Whale Experience

Close encounters

Spend two unforgettable mornings with the friendly grey whales of Magdalena Bay.

These lagoons are famous for their extraordinary interactions, where curious whales often approach the boats on their own. Between excursions, we'll also explore the spectacular coastal dunes and enjoy the unique landscapes of the region.

After the second whale excursion, we'll transfer to Loreto.

6 Day

Blue Whale Expedition

The largest animal on Earth

Spend the day searching for blue whales in the waters surrounding Loreto.

This region offers one of the world's best opportunities to encounter the largest animal ever to have lived, while also keeping an eye out for fin whales, dolphins, and other marine wildlife.

7 Day

Transfer to La Paz

Into the Sea of Cortez

Travel to La Paz, the final destination of the expedition.

Take the opportunity to relax, enjoy the journey through Baja California Sur, and prepare for one last day on the water.

8 Day

Whale Sharks & Sea Lions

A perfect finale

End the expedition snorkeling with whale sharks in the calm waters of La Paz.

We'll also visit a nearby sea lion colony, where you'll have the opportunity to swim alongside these playful marine mammals before celebrating an unforgettable week of wildlife encounters.
